Fall 2009 Fashion Runways: DKNY

Thank heavens for Donna Karan. I'm not usually a huge fan of DKNY — too wear-to-the-office, basic American sportswear. Now, don't get me wrong, it serves its place; I just usually crave more zing. The reason I'm so delighted with this particular DKNY collection is that finally, someone is using COLOR! It irks me that designers seem to feel that, since we're in a recession, we should dress is somber hues and look like we're going to a funeral. I'm of the opinion that color is the best pick-me-up and especially necessary during depression times. The other reason I loved the collection was the classic late 1950s/early 1960s vibe — red pencil skirt, anyone? :D

The One "OMG, What Was She Thinking?" Moment:

That sweater, even if it were worn alone, is ugly enough to deserve burning at the stake and combined with shoes in another animal print and a plaid skirt — the whole thing is enough to make anyone's eyes bleed.
