AQUASCUTUM Expands US Operations

Aquascutum Divine bodice dress

Aquascutum has long been one of my favorite labels to buy on trips to London, but it's been hard to get a hold of in the States. A few pieces from the Fall 2008 runway collection became available through Net-a-Porter in July and they sold like hotcakes. "I think there is a huge desire from the American consumer for us," said Aquascutum President and CEO Kim Winser.*

This month a new collection, Aquascutum London, consisting of formal and casual separates, will launch at selected Saks. Bergdorf's in NYC will be carrying Aquascutum Vintage, a collection of coats inspired by designs from the company's 157 year history. Bloomingdales will carry the men's line, Aquascutum LTD. An Aquascutum flagship store will be opening in Manhattan in the coming year.

Here were my favorite looks from the Aquascutum Autumn 2008 collection:

I couldn't be more excited. I bought a gorgeous Aquascutum coat last winter and I think that they are poised to give Burberry a run for their money in the US marketplace. The design and quality are exemplary.

It won't truly have success, I suppose this way.
