Hilary Rhoda, Gwyneth Paltrow, Elizabeth Hurley, and Carolyn Murphy greeted fans at Bloomingdale's in Manhattan on Tuesday, June 8, for the launch of Estée Lauder's new Sensuous perfume.
The store was filled with fans clamoring to meet the ladies and to get their perfumes autographed.
Okay, so I have to comment on the outfits. Hilary Rhoda's is a nice Grecian tunic dress, but the black color is uninspired — first of all, it's daytime, secondly, it washes her out. Gwyneth's Gianbattista Valli dress is alright, but with it's deep V combined with fluttery ruffles, it's a bit too Orange County housewife for my taste. Elizabeth Hurley invariably treads on that side of the line between glamorous and tarty, so I'm not surprised at her choice of dress — the only thing the dress has going for it is the plummy purple color (very Fall 2008), but again: daytime, hello, and still summer, double hello! Carolyn Murphy's dress with its lantern sleeves just mystifies me. The dress is too "old" for her, plain and simple.
What they all got right was the shoes — especially yummy are the Dior sandals on Gwynnie. Remind anyone of the Sex and the City movie Dior sandals on Carrie?
