Spring 2008 Shoes: Goddesses and Gladiators

$275 Tory Burch Alexis*

This spring and summer, all shoes that evoke the days of Roman gladiators, Greek goddesses, and Amazon warriors are seriously in style. They range from basic gladiator sandals to warrior-inspired high heels, and come in a multitude of colors and finishes. Gold, silver, and bronze are the most desirable finishes, but pretty much anything goes as long as its strappy and buckled, and evokes chicks kicking butt. So embrace your inner warrior goddess and jump on the bandwagon!

Ooh, I want tall ones! The Ferretti is also amazing.

I thought the "Paris Hilton Goddess" were actually by Jessica Simpson? They are not very comfortable on your heel. I wonder if that is true of all of these styles.

Wendy - I thought you might :)

C & C - The Simpsons do look very similar, but the construction is poorer and the gold is more 'yellowy'. I didn't want to post the Hiltons out of principle, but the quality/price ratio is insanely good in these, so I couldn't in good conscience not mention them. I haven't tried any of the flats on -- at 5'5" I'm never without at least a little heel :D
