GlamStyling: How to Pull Off a Glam Party Look

Glam Girl Alessandria wrote saying she'd bought a dress (that BCBG Max Azria above) for a New Year's party where Old Hollywood Glamour was the theme. She said that she is "so lost as to how to wear this dress, the flashiness and sparkle intimidates me," and asked for tips on how to accessorize and pull off the whole look.

You're right, you have to be careful not to overdo the accessories here or it'll be too much. I would suggest you go with a plain silver clutch and sandals, along these lines:

Kenneth Cole "Mirror Me"
$54.40 eBags

Enzo Angiolini "Holling"
$99.95 Zappos

For jewelry, I suggest you forego both earrings and necklace — this dress is really your main jewel here. I would, however, wear a wide crystal (rhinestone) bracelet:

Nadri Woven Pavé Cufficon
$135 Nordstromicon
Tasha Crystal Mesh Cufficon
$148 Nordstromicon

For hair, see How To Do Old Hollywood Glamour Hair. For makeup, do your own version based on How to do Marilyn Monroe Makeup.

You're set to party the night away!
