America Ferrera is "Hispanic Woman of the Year"

Ugly Betty star America Ferrera, our favorite sweetheart, was awarded the honor "Hispanic Woman of the Year" by Billboard and The Hollywood Reporter yesterday at the Hispanic Women in Entertainment breakfast at the Roosevelt Hotel in Hollywood.

Timed to coincide with The Hollywood Reporter's first "Hispanic Women in Entertainment" report, the breakfast was opened by HR publishing director Eric Mika with the words: "Were not just celebrating Hispanic women here today but we're celebrating professional leadership in our industry."

America Ferrera was lovely in a navy blue lace overlay sheath dress by Monique Lhuillier. In accepting the award, she said with her wonted humility, "I feel so fortunate to be alive at this time. Thank you to The Hollywood Reporter and to Billboard magazine for recognizing that there is a change happening. To all the other 25 women, congratulations to you and thank you for being role models to me."

She is so classy, a lot of young Hollywood should take a page out of her book!

Yes, so true. She is hardworking, elegant, and a class act through and through. She'll have real staying power over the dime-a-dozen panty-flashers.
