Free Olympus Fashion Week Events, Open to the Public

Are you in New York next week and dying for some Fashion Week goodness? While you had to be approved and invited by the PR agencies for the runway shows, there are some events that are open to the public, and FREE!

On Monday September 10, you can head to the Reading Room at Bryant Park and meet Carmindy, the makeup artist from the TLC makeover show "What Not to Wear." Carmindy will be reading from her new book, The 5-Minute Face, and signing copies. 12:30pm–1:45pm.

On Wednesday, September 12, Lucky Magazine Beauty Editor Jean Godfrey-June will be reading from her new book, Free Gift with Purchase: My Improbable Career in Magazines and Makeup. Filled with makeup advice and juicy stories about the world of fashion, the book reveals much about the beauty industry and its movers and shakers. June-Godfrey, who went from a tomboy to a fashion editor who receives "between fifty and two hundred products a day," has written an insightful and funny book well worth reading for every Glamour Girl. 12:30pm–1:45pm.
