59th Primetime Emmy Awards Red Carpet Arrivals - Winners and Losers

General trends: As expected, Old Hollywood was the trend, glamour gowns all the way from the 1920s (Rebecca Romijn) through the 30s, 40s, and even 1950s (Christina Aguilera, surprise surprise). The Fall 2007 main colors of white, black, blue, and red were well represented, while a few already ventured into the spring colors (most of them unsuccessfully).

The Most Glamorous were:

Katherine Heigl (Grey's Anatomy)

The white Zac Posen dress along with her makeup and hair made her a perfect mixture of Grace Kelly and Marilyn Monroe.

Debra Messing (The Starter Wife)

This white & black Ralph Lauren, along with the sleek hair and makeup gave Debra her best turn on the red carpet in memory.

Heidi Klum (Project Runway)

This cranberry red Dior by John Galliano along with her hair and makeup made Heidi reminiscent of the screen goddesses of Hollywood Golden Age.

Then, the not-so-great.

Worst Dress:

Jenna Fischer (The Office)

Oh - my - god. My grandma had curtains from this fabric in the 1960s, I've seen pictures of them. Poor child. They don't pay her enough for her to buy a dress, so she had to Scarlett O'Hara it and make her own out of drapes. Wow. Seriously ghastly.

Seriously Weird Dress Choice:

Vanessa Williams (Ugly Betty)

Ok, now seriously. How many Muppets were killed to make this Kevan Hall atrocity happen? Big Bird's celadon green cousins are holding a wake somewhere near Sesame Street as we speak. Vanessa!!! What on earth were you THINKING? Fire your stylist first thing tomorrow. I am one of your biggest fans, so I'll chalk this up to temporary insanity.

Tinseltown Trailer Park:

Kathryn Morris (Cold Case)

From the front the dress was passable, then the back happened.

Worst Hair - A Grey's Anatomy Tie:
Ellen Pompeo
Kate Walsh

What can I say, ladies? Ellen Pompeo looks like she's auditioning for the reunion tour of A Flock of Seagulls, and Kate just looks like, well, a seagull. I would love to know the names of these hair stylists, to be sure never to use them.

OK, enough cattiness. What did you think of the Emmy Red Carpet? Who were your best and worst?
