Summer Hotpicks: The Ballerina Flat
The grace of the ballet flat has timeless appeal. I'm sure many of us immediately picture the gamine glamour of Audrey Hepburn, with visions of Paris and "La vie en rose" playing in the background. Most of us Glamour Girls rarely wear flats, the high heel being our favorite Glamour Accessory, but every once in a while a flat shoe is ideal. This point was brought home to me the first time I was in Paris and made the mistake of wearing heels on the cobblestoned streets of Montmartre. Not only did I injure my ankle in the unladylike dip headlong into a gutter, but more importantly, my pride. There I was imagining myself Parisienne, and proved myself all but. But enough about my Parisian cobblestone trauma, and on with this summer's gorgeous ballerina flats:

A quick note: when visiting these stores, you may run across spectator pumps and various gold ballerina flats — the first evoke the lady running human resources at the insurance company, the second evokes blue-haired grandmothers in Boca. So both are a Glam Girl no-no :P

Hi Su! I like them too - aren't they just bright and sunny! I think my favorites out of all of these (hard job to pick) are the little red Naughty Monkeys. I've quite lost my heart to them. I went back to buy the red Prada skirt from a few posts ago, and it had sold out (grr!) but I'm getting my red ballerinas :)
