In the previous post on Fall 2007 Ready-to-Wear fashion we covered colors: Black, White, Grey, Metallics, Reds and Blues. Now let's look at the first set of trends.
Back to Glamour — Old Hollywood Style
Movie Star Style is back. Designers drew inspiration from the leading ladies of Old Hollywood, from the silent films (see post on Galliano) to the Hollywood Golden Age.
1. Kate Hepburn
Katherine Hepburn seems to have been an inspiration for the exquisitely tailored pieces by Gucci, Givenchy, and Badgley Mischka — the Kate Hepburn "signature" slacks especially are objets de désir this fall:
2. Audrey Hepburn
Perennial favorite Audrey Hepburn's inspiration was seen in the collections of Abaeté, Emporio Armani, Carmen Marc Valvo, Giorgio Armani, and Bill Blass.
3. Old Hollywood Evening Gowns.
Gowns went glamorous and Old Hollywood, hearkening back to the 1930s and 40s, almost across the board. You can almost see the ladies of the silver screen in some of these gorgeous column dresses and movie goddess creations.
