Cheesecake Factory Friday

I love reading people's "What I wore today" types of blog entries. It's always so much fun to see what others wear, partly for curiosity, or to get inspiration. I thought I'd try one of those posts.

Tonight Glam Boy and I had a Long Island adventure — I know! We were meeting my friend Jasmine (who was my roommate when I lived in Rome) and her boyfriend at the Cheesecake Factory in Westbury, NY. Traffic was monstrous, as you can well imagine, it being the beginning of many folks' 4th of July holidays, but we made it there alive.

Whenever I'm near a Cheesecake Factory I always make time for it, so I wasn't surprised when we were told the wait would be an hour and a half (luckily Jas and Co. had come early and part of the wait was already over). We had drinks at the bar until our table was ready. I had a "Strawberry Creamsicle" (Crushed Strawberries, Ice Cream, Vodka and Amaretto DiSaronno) — it used to be called "The French Kiss" back in the day, but the waitress, who was new to the franchise, looked at me like I had lost my mind.

The Cheesecake Factory menu is like a book, so even finicky eaters are sure to find something there. It's great for big parties where some are vegetarian, some have food allergies, some are picky, some grouchy—everyone I've ever met likes it.

Glam Boy had their giant burrito (I'm not kidding, it would take me 3 days to eat that thing!), Jas had the enormous herb-crusted salmon salad, her boyfriend had ribs, and I had the Pasta da Vinci, which is a chicken in a madeira parmesan sauce. 5 million calories, but so worth it. By the end of the night we were all giddy with drinks and carbs, so it was entirely a successful outing. Glam Boy and I got 2 slices of cheesecake to go, which we're too full to eat tonight, but will have as breakfast in bed tomorrow morning.

If you've never been, check out www.thecheesecakefactory.com—they have a CF finder, a menu, and you can even send one of their cheesecakes in the mail! Your local Barnes & Noble café might also serve slices, depending on the location. My favorite CF is the romantic yacht club-like CF in Redondo Beach (near LA).

What was my point other than brag about my full belly and making you desire cheesecake? Oh right, outfit. All the Cheesecake Factories (with the exception of the CF in Beverly Hills which has a very Old Boys' Club atmosphere) are pretty casual, so Glam-Caz was in order. Here's what I wore. Now mind you these pics are not me—I was way cuter, even though I say so myself :P

A pink Juicy Couture bubble sleeve blouse, Diesel jeans, Irregular Choice pink kitten-heeled pumps, Roccobarocco pink purse and the gold chandelier earrings Glam Boy gave me for our anniversary last year.

Well, there it all is, sourced out. If you want the shirt, make sure you use the coupon code to get up to $100 OFF! With code: FIREWORKS07 at shopbop.com!

I'm only sorry I can't find a source for my Irregular Choice pink pumps—they were last year's model and I got them on eBay, so if you want them, keep your eye peeled on eBay or do one of those alert-thingies where you save your search and they email you when someone puts a pair on sale.

P.S. I know it looks in the picture like the pinks are fighting, but IRL they're not =)

I've got to get to this place called...New York and eat at this Cheesecake Factory, you speak of.

LOL! Seriously, I've only been to New York once when I was in college(so many years ago) with my roommate and she waited until we return to North Carolina to say..."You know, I forgot to take you to the Cheesecake Factory."

Anywho, you know you're always gonna come out looking fabulous. You are a style guru.

Oh they have them all around the country Ms. Mills - use the CF finder on their website. Maybe next time you're out of town someplace (NY or otherwise) they'll have one - they are divinity! I had my cheesecake in bed this morning and it was the BEST way to wake up on a Saturday!

Okay...well I'm torn between the White Chocolate Raspberry cheesecake and the Tuxedo Cheesecake (long name that I can't remember but I know I really want it). My husband is no help. He says as long as it's a cheesecake, he'll eat it.

Oh and I looked at the map...and noooow, they have one in Raleigh AND Durham. When I was going to college in Raleigh, I worked at the mall that the Cheesecake Factory is now in and guess what...it wasn't there. What's worse is that had it been there when I was 19, I could have eaten,as much cheesecake as, I wanted and not gained a pound. Now if I eat one slice I've gotta spend 45 minutes on the elliptical to burn off the calories before they show up on my butt.

That being said I think I'm going to get the Tuxedo one. Oh and or course both Godiva Chocolate cheesecakes were sold out.

Oh of course they were sold out - that's the way it always works out, isn't it? I know what you mean about the aging thing... when you're 19 you don't realize you should eat all the fattening stuff in mass quantities! You never believe when they tell you your metabolism will slow with age... until one day when it hits you that everything you eat that tastes good goes straight to your tummy or hips. *sigh*

So true. I remember when I considered shopping or a night dancing at a nightclub a major workout. Now I'm panting and sweating it out with in the gym with a twentysomething trainer (in top model shape I may add) to burn off the slice a pizza I cheated on my diet with...life.

You know, I'm the only person who probably read this post and completely focused on the cheesecake, lol.

Well, I've bought four things for my closet that you've suggested and they've been great. Why not give the cheesecake a try?

Thinking of going to the cheesecake factory for my husbands and mines anniversary, I have never been there before, and I usually dress up in a nice dress every year for our anniversary, if I go to the cheesecake factory would I look stupid if I wear a cute but not to dressy black dress, the bottom is like a very fitting pin skirt and the top is like a flowy lacy kinda fabric and the back has like a little peek a boo hole thingy, planned on wearing that with my hair in loose curls and pinned on one side like a faux half shaven look, with a simple necklace and a pair of black satin pumps... (Sorry for my terms describing the dress)
